HCC’s Discipleship Pathway was designed to help you transform into a thriving disciple of Jesus Christ by helping you to know and love God more deeply, grow together in community, and serve the world around you by being God’s hands and feet to those in need. Each part of the Pathway is designed to help you find opportunities to grow spiritually, connect with the life of the church and grow alongside each other in community, and practice the rhythms of a healthy, flourishing faith.

Growing as a disciple is not something that is meant to be done by using a checklist. It is a lifelong journey along side the Holy Spirit that is focused on living and loving like Jesus while helping others to do the same. The Discipleship Pathway is designed to support your journey. Each element of the Pathway offers ways for you to invest in spiritual development, engage with the church community, live out the core practices of a healthy faith, and build relationships with others. Find the next step in your journey of becoming more and more like Jesus.
Starting Point Class
In the HCC starting point connect class you are invited to dive deep into our vision, mission, and core values. This class is open to everyone. Anyone desiring to learn more about our focus here at Hempfield Church is welcome to participate.
What is Rooted?
Rooted is a 10-week discipleship experience for adults shared in a small group setting. You will explore God’s Word and learn to practice the rhythms of discipleship essential to a healthy spiritual life. Rooted provides each participant the opportunity to grow your relationship with God, deepen your connection with the Church, and discover your purpose.

When and where will the Rooted Connect Groups meet?
Rooted will begin in January and meet once a week at a home or at the church building. The day of the week will be chosen based on the participants’ schedules. In addition to the weekly meeting, Rooted includes five daily devotions each week, one prayer event and a service project.
What if I can’t make all ten weeks?
We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth investing in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other by being at every meeting.
How do I register and what does it cost?
Registration is easy; just sign up in the lobby of the church. While Rooted registration is FREE, each participant is responsible for purchasing the workbook which is $25. Couples may share a workbook. After you are registered and groups are formed, you will receive additional information on how to purchase your workbook.
Are scholarships available?
Yes! We believe Rooted is a life-changing experience and we want everyone to be able to participate. We understand the Rooted workbook fee may be a burden for some and are happy to provide scholarships.
What if I can’t participate this time?
We plan to conduct other Rooted sessions in the future. We will be announcing those later.
